Blueways Master Plan Promises Water Fun For All

Soon tourists and locals will be able to have more fun in the water after the completion of the Miami Beach Blueways Master Plan. Led by the City’s Parks and Recreation Department, the goal is to connect people to water at convenient locations and allow for a variety of aquatic recreational amenities and activities. The plan was created by designers from EDSA, with the city’s and public input, and is tremendous in its scope and depth.

City Presents New Bicycle Master Plan to North Beach Residents

On June 4, 2015, the City of Miami Beach Transportation Planner, Xavier Falconi, presented the new bicycle master plan to North Beach residents at the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Panel. At the meeting, residents were able to hear firsthand about the plan and make suggestions. In addition to working on this plan, the City is finalizing a transportation master plan to improve overall transportation issues.

“These two plans are being worked on separately but on two parallel tracks,” said Falconi, who has worked for the department for seven years. “These two plans are essentially becoming one and we have gotten positive feedback.”

Gol Restaurant – A Dream Come True

The new restaurant Gol opened in North Beach earlier this year and has become a haven for soccer fanatics and food enthusiasts alike. Located at 940 71st Street in Miami Beach, Gol offers a low-key environment where patrons can watch a few matches, enjoy good food, and throw back a few drinks. One thing owner Roberto Paresce wants to make clear, is that his establishment is NOT a sports bar.

Normandy Isle Residents Seek Relief from Parking Shortage

Residents on Bay Drive West are up in arms about the reduction of parking as a result of the CIP improvements to their neighborhood. The city is hosting a community meeting this Thursday, October 7th at 6:00 PM to discuss residents’ concerns. Representatives from various city departments including CIP, Public Works, Parking, Planning and Transportation will be on hand to answer and address resident concerns. Your participation and attendance is essential as the city seeks residents’ input.
