This weekend kicks off the Miami on Stage series in North Beach with a free concert, Saturday, in North Shore Open Park as part of the city’s Arts in the Park events.

The Festival of the Arts extends into the evening hours on Saturday at the North Beach Band Shell with the MiMo Dance Party. The party will feature musical hits from the 1945 to 1965, the twenty-year period that saw the rapid expansion of Miami Beach and the emergence of the distinctive mid-century architecture that distinguishes the streets of North Beach from the Deco-inspired counterparts in South Beach. The big mid and North Beach hotels were renowned for glamorous venues that hosted top-tier talent to entertain vacationers and locals alike.
