Dust off the quads and get ready for some great family fun. Friday Night Skates are back along with Movies in the Park. Its all happening at the North Shore Bandshell now through May. The City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreations Department has a planned event every Friday night for residents of all ages to enjoy. It’s all free so there’s no reason to miss the fun. Besides, if you have not seen the recent facelift and renovations to the Bandshell there’s no better time than this Friday night.
The released schedule through February is as follows.
January 6, 2012 Friday Night Skate 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
January 13, 2012 Friday Night Skate 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
January 20, 2012 Movie in the Park 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
January 27, 2012 Movie in the Park 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
February 3, 2012 Friday Night Skate 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
February 10, 2012 Movie in the Park 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
February 17, 2012 Movie in the Park 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
February 24, 2012 Friday Night Skate 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Starting in March 2012, the city will alternate weeks between the movie night and skates.

The renovations at the Bandshell are superb and have certainly polished this North Beach treasure! I look forward to skating around the theater on a tropical winter’s night soon.

Unfortunately, no. You need to bring your own skates. In addition, only skates are permitted. No bikes, push scooters or skate boards. Lots of kids just dance in the center circle a well. It’s a lot of fun.
