County’s Mom & Pop Grants Due February 15th 2010
It’s that time a year again when the county commissioners hand out Mom & Pop Grants for small businesses in their districts. This is a great opportunity for small businesses in North Beach to get some much needed cash. Historically these grants do not provide very much funding over that of a couple of thousand dollars. Nonetheless, in this difficult economic climate, its worth the the time to apply for the grant. If you have been in business in North Beach for 2 or more years, you qualify for this grant and should apply. But you will have to hurry, applications must be received by February 15th.
The Mom & Pop Small Business Grant Program was created to provide financial and technical assistance to qualified small businesses that are approved for funding. Financial assistance is provided to further the economic viability of businesses in the districts. Funding can be used to purchase equipment, supplies, advertising/marketing, inventory, building liability insurance, security systems and to make minor renovations.
In order to receive the correct guidelines and be considered for funding, you must apply in the district where your business is located. In North Beach we have two districts. Businesses located in Normandy Village fall under District 4. Businesses located in Town Center, Resort Distrcit and Bandshell Districts should apply under District 5.
