This Memorial Day weekend, experience the unique practice of Kundalini Yoga at the very first Miami Beach Kundalini Yoga Festival. Taking place at the North Beach Bandshell, the two-day festival has a jam-packed schedule, filled with many events and featuring a group of talented instructors and musicians that will lead you through a weekend of health, fitness and self awareness.

“This is our maiden voyage, our very first year and we are super excited to be bringing the South Florida community together,” says festival producer and Miami native Mia Glick. When asked if this festival would be a great introduction into the practice of Kundalini yoga, Mia answered with an enthusiastic “Yes! The beauty of kundalini yoga is that it’s non-linear. There is absolutely no starting point and you can jump in at any time, as opposed to other types of yoga. There are fundamentals in Kundalini and these fundamentals are taught over and over and can be learned in any class.”

The festival is bringing in instructors from New York and Chile and will have a class taught in Portuguese. Musicians from the event are coming in from Toronto, Vancouver, Oregon and northern California as well as local musicians.

The creator of YogaMusic, she is a certified yoga and music teacher with 20 years of experience. YogaMusic combines the beauty of live music and the strength of yoga, creating classes that are suitable for children of all ages. Her program is taught in over 200 schools throughout Latin America and Spain, and is currently taught at 15 South Florida schools.

Meaning awareness and the hidden potential of that awareness, kundalini is a type of yoga that aims to improve your health and fitness, as well as help you clarify and achieve your goals. The weekend will be full of not only yoga classes, but also seminars on how to deal with stress, classes on healthy and raw eating, and mediation sessions. Mia says to think of the festival as a “sample platter” of Kundalini yoga and all it’s comprised of.

While 2-day passes with access to all of the classes and events are being sold, the festival is also making available separate tickets for just the Saturday evening concert and Sunday evening bhangra dance.

Organizers of the festival would like to give a special thank you to all of the sponsors that are making this possible. Head over to their website to learn more about everyone involved and purchase your tickets. www.miamibeachkundaliniyogafestival.com
