Located on Collins Ave from 79th street to 87th street, the North Shore Open Space Park is one of the largest parks in Miami Beach. At 36 acres, this lush oceanfront park is full of native vegetation, coastal hammocks, and dunes, which can be therapeutic when swaying in the ocean breezes. Aside from being one of the largest parks, this is the only oceanfront park in Miami Beach that features BBQ grills, along with pavilions, picnic tables, showers, restrooms, and plenty of green, shady trees. Ample parking can be found in the municipal lot across the street on 83rd street and also along Harding Ave. The dog parks found here have been recently enclosed, with one area designated for small dogs and another for larger dogs.

Bordering the east side of the park is the beach walk, which extends south for over a mile to Allison Park, weaving through picturesque beach scenes and stunning oceanfront property.

Strategically placed throughout the park is a series of outdoor exercise equipment and children’s play equipment. We recommend passing through the park to head straight to the beach, which is open and great for quiet reading and relaxation.

In 2015, the park was approved, by Commission, for a redesign. Visit our parks News section for updates on this project.
