The City of Miami Beach is kicking off the fall session for the Leadership Academy. Get a fresh perspective on how to become more active in your community. The free, 15-week Miami Beach Neighborhood Leadership Academy (NLA) provides residents with the information and resources to become more knowledgeable members and participants in our diverse community.

This Friday the City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation Department will bring the beautiful Hawaiian Islands to the North Shore Park and Youth Center. The “Loco Luau” will begin at 6 p.m. with 90 minutes of fun filled “Hawaiian Style” events.

Residents of North Beach have long known that this part of town is Miami Beach’s best kept secret. Before long, the rest of the world will be let in on the secret. The Altos Del Mar Sculpture Park has taken one more big step from dream to reality.

On Tuesday, May 25th, the City of Miami Beach Planning Board will be reviewing the long awaited North Beach Town Center Zoning Code Amendments. The planning board has the item scheduled on their agenda for a time certain of 5:00 PM. Residents in the North Beach area are encouraged to attend this important public meeting.

In celebration of Haitian Heritage Month, the City of Miami Beach is raising money to retrofit two emergency vehicles to send to Haiti in partnership with Project Medishare Haiti. This is a genuine event for a good cause. Please come out and support our city’s efforts to help our neighbors in need.
