Offering up lots of craft beer options, great happy hour specials and a concise menu of typical bar food favorites, The Brooklyn is owned by local North Beach resident, Josef Horowitz. A chef by trade, it was a visit back to his hometown of Brooklyn, NY that sparked the idea of giving something Miami that it was severely lacking. Having spent the past five years living in Miami, he saw the need for a relaxed bar, where patrons could hang out, enjoy great drinks at affordable prices and listen to good music.
And that’s exactly what The Brooklyn is offering up its guests.
The menu consists of typical bar fare; a classic burger (which we hear is cooked to perfection!), a juicy chicken breast sandwich, and tacos with your choice of chicken, pulled beef or fish, are all solid options to choose from. But no bar would be complete without a heavy plate of delicious wings, right? The Brooklyn offers you a choice of buffalo or barbecue and they’re certainly a must-try. Don’t forget to check out their daily board too for any specials; items such as meat and cheese boards appear on there regularly, so there’s always something new to look forward to.
Our favorite part about The Brooklyn, is that walking in feels like going over to your friends house. The front is decked out with lots of cozy sofas and comfortable armchairs you sink in to, making this a great spot for groups. Coffee tables play host to games like Jenga, Backgammon or Scrabble – winner buys another round! The garden out back, decorated with string lights and furnished with tables and chairs, is a perfect date-night option in our opinion.
Happy hour enthusiasts, we’ve found your new favorite bar. Although already affordable, every weekday from 5 to 7, all wine and beers are $2 off and tacos and wings are half off. Craft beer options include Brooklyn Lager (a wise choice, given the establishments name), Dogfish Head, Fat Tire and Monk in the Trunk. Come in and try a few, prices here go easy on the wallet.
In addition to their weekly happy hour, The Brooklyn also hosts a live jazz evening every Sunday and has hosted a comedy show and karaoke night. The best way to stay in the know with all their upcoming events is to follow them on Instagram.
It’s always exciting to have new folks in the neighborhood, and we certainly hope you’ll venture out and try out The Brooklyn for yourself! For reservations, visit their website at www.thebrooklynmiami.com
